The Challenge

Today, I'm going to show you how to grow outbound sales using social signals with Clay and Trigify. (Scroll to the bottom for a demo video and template).

Most GTM teams face a fundamental problem:

They are shooting in the dark with outbound sales.

You might be reaching out to prospects without knowing if they have any interest in solutions like yours. This lack of signal leads to low conversion rates and wasted effort on unqualified leads.

You need strong intent signals from potential customers on social media.

Why It's Important

To sell more, I believe you should go where the fish are.

In B2B sales, timing is everything. When prospects post on social media about your industry, they're telling you they're actively thinking about solutions like yours. Missing these signals means:

  • Your perfect prospect might be evaluating solutions right now—but you don't know it

  • Your competitors are probably already talking to prospects who are posting about their challenges

  • Your SDRs are spending hours reaching out to people who haven't shown interest

  • Your "good" prospects are getting bombarded with cold emails while they're publicly asking for help elsewhere

Think about this:

Would you rather reach out to someone who just posted "Looking for a better way to manage our sales data" or send another cold email into the void?

Common Solutions (and why they fail)

Most GTM teams rely on basic outbound approaches that ignore intent signals.

This is what they usually do:

  • Buy lists and blast cold emails (spray and pray)

  • Scrape 1000s of LinkedIn profiles (no context)

  • Pay for expensive intent data (outdated)

These approaches are:

  1. Expensive and inefficient

  2. Don't tell you if prospects are actually interested

  3. Lead to terrible response rates (and blocked domains)

Meanwhile…

Your ideal customers are literally raising their hands on social media begging for solutions like yours – but you're missing these signals completely.

A Better Way - Using Social Signals with Clay and Trigify

Instead of cold outreach, you need an intent-based targeting system.

This will help you find prospects already talking about your space.

Here's how I use Trigify.io and Clay to build a high-intent pipeline:

  1. Track Social Signals

    • Use Trigify to monitor LinkedIn for industry-relevant keywords

    • Build a live list of prospects actively discussing your space

  2. Enrich and Score Leads

    • Import prospects into Clay

    • Use Claygent (Clay's AI researcher) to:

      • Find company revenue using multiple data sources

      • Categorize leads into ICP-fit buckets

      • Verify contact information

  3. Smart Targeting

    • Focus outreach only on prospects who:

      • Show active interest through social engagement

      • Match your ideal customer profile

      • Meet revenue requirements

The Result

Your GTM team can now:

  • Target prospects actively discussing your industry

  • Prioritize leads based on revenue and fit

  • Personalize outreach with social context

  • Focus only on high-probability opportunities

This will increase your response rates.

Plus, you'll save hours of prospecting time by focusing on:

  • The right prospects

  • At the right time

  • With the right context
